You feel a pull toward something more but haven’t acted on it. The Dreamer helps you recognize this pattern and name the season you’re in.
It didn’t hit me all at once.
On the surface, everything looked like it should. I was doing well, being responsible, and staying the course. And for a while, that felt like enough.
But underneath, something started to shift.
At first, it was quiet and easy to dismiss and rationalize. There was a thought here. A feeling there. This sense that there might be something more… even if I couldn’t fully name it yet.
I told myself to stay focused. To keep doing what was working. To not get distracted.
That felt like the responsible thing to do.
But the pull didn’t go away.
It got stronger.
There was something else calling me. Something that felt more aligned and energizing. More like the direction I was meant to go.
And what made it complicated was this:
Answering that call wouldn’t take anything away from what I had built.
But ignoring it started to feel like I was holding myself back.
I wasn’t waiting for clarity.
I was resisting it.
This doesn’t always look the way people expect.
Nothing is necessarily wrong. You’re doing good work. You’ve made thoughtful choices. From the outside, your path makes sense.
And still, something keeps showing up.
An idea. A possibility. A version of your work that you haven’t fully explored.
You don’t ignore it. You just place it to the side. Because it’s not the right time. Because there are real responsibilities in front of you. Because staying where you are feels grounded and safe.
So you keep going.
And still, the pull doesn’t go away.
It tends to get a little louder over time. Not always in a disruptive way. More like something that keeps asking for your attention.
That’s what creates the tension.
Part of you is curious.
And another part wants to stay with what’s known.
That’s what makes this season so easy to defer.
That’s the Dreamer archetype.
The distortion
Here’s what often keeps the Dreamer stuck:
The vision feels real, but the next step doesn’t.
So you stay where you are. Not because you don’t want the next thing, but because you can’t yet see how to get there.
And instead of exploring, you start to second-guess the pull itself.
A small shift
What if you don’t need the full path to take a step?
What if the call you’re feeling is enough to begin paying attention?
Not to leap, but to start exploring what’s there.
If this feels familiar, it may be time to name the season you’re in.
You may be in a Dreamer season, and often more than one pattern is at play.
